Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Main Campus in Cleveland is seeking an experienced RN for the Heart & Lung Transplant unit. You will provide direct nursing care on a 24-bed transplant step-down unit and work closely with a passionate team to support patients and families throughout the care journey.

The role requires RN licensure (RN), ADN/BSN, BLS, and 1 year of acute care experience (or licensed military RN). Shift is a day/night rotation with 7:00am-7:30pm and 7:00pm-7:30am schedules, including

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience
  • Preferred BSN

Responsibilities

J82 is a 24-bed step-down unit dedicated to the specialized care ofsolidorgan transplantpatients,including heart and lung. This unit also cares for patients waiting for heart transplants on inotropic drips that are too unstable to wait at home. J82 also serves as a cardiac telemetry step down unit for cardiac medical patients.As an RN on this team, you will deliver exceptional care, throughout the patient care journey. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed.

A caregiver in this role works a day/night rotation from 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. with weekend and holiday requirements.

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.

  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.

  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

  • Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.

  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.

  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
