PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION

To provide nursing care to patients and assist the provider in responding to the health needs of patients.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Plans and develops interactions for health-related services appropriate to skill level and based on current industry standards to ensure exceptional patient care.
2. Identify the unique physical and emotional needs of each patient.
3. Manage clinical patient data.
4. Assist Provider with patient care as required.
5. Follow directions given by the provider.
6. Assist provider with chart documentation.
7. Educate patients regarding medical diagnosis/test results.
8. Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and standards.
9. Collaborate with Providers regarding patient condition, orders, treatment plans, and anticipated needs to ensure exceptional patient care.
10. Follow proper communication channels within department and management.
11. Maintain appropriate educational experiences for skill development.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Licensure by the Board of Registration in Nursing in the State of Ohio as an RN.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Positive, service-oriented attitude and communication skills.
• Ability to work at different BVMP Practices as needed.
• Knowledge of office procedures and equipment.
• Experience with throat cultures, hemocues, hemoccults, glucometers, urinalysis, and urine pregnancy testing.
• Ability to provide age-appropriate care, demonstrating understanding of growth and development across the lifespan.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Familiarity with medical office practices.
• Typing and medical terminology experience.
• EMR system experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position requires a full range of motion including walking, lifting, bending, climbing, squatting, kneeling, twisting, sitting, and standing. The employee may walk up to two hours, stand for two hours, and sit for four hours daily. Must be able to lift fifty pounds and reach above shoulder level. Good eye-hand coordination and fine finger dexterity are necessary for operating machines. Excellent verbal communication skills are required to interact with patients, physicians, and co-workers. Vision correction and normal hearing are necessary.
