Job summary

The role emphasizes leadership, mentoring, and participation in quality improvement while supporting Mayo Clinic’s patient-first mission. Eligible for TN sponsorship; on-call and flexible shifts are required, with nights and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a baccalaureate nursing program.
• One year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of LPN experience at Mayo Clinic is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Computer skills required, prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends and on-call.
• Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting.
• Demonstrated leadership, effective communicator, and excellent critical thinking skills.
• Current RN license by applicable state requirements. Florida licensure and BLS competency.
• Additional state licensure(s) and/or specialty certification/training as required by the work area.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate nursing care, including direct patient care, education and care transitions for assigned patients.
• Support professional nursing practice across settings and across the continuum of care.
• Provide leadership through preceptor roles and involvement in quality improvement efforts.
• Mentor and teach colleagues and participate in committees or projects.
• May be required to drive personal vehicle as part of the role.
