Summary: The Graduate Nurse is responsible for providing professional nursing care for a defined group of patients according to the hospital’s philosophy of patient care and standards of professional nursing practice. The Graduate Nurse demonstrates responsibility and accountability for judgment and actions, maintains clinical competency, and exercises informed judgment in delegating nursing care to others. The Graduate Nurse promotes patient, family, and staff learning. The Graduate Nurse will work under the supervision of an RN.
Education: Graduate of an accredited R.N. school of nursing.
Experience: New graduate nurse.

Working conditions and safety: Must possess sound dexterity and visual acuity. Requires mental alertness, stamina for a fast-paced environment, and emergency situations. Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, reach without restrictions. Ability to lift 25-50 pounds using good body mechanics. May be exposed to patient care elements, needle punctures, electrical, mechanical, and chemical hazards. Exposure to ionizing radiation is possible but monitored. Must meet annual safety training requirements. Must work hours including weekends and holidays as required.
