Job summary

MERCY HOSPITAL Springfield and Surrounding Communities is seeking an incentivized Registered Nurse for the GIG department. This PRN/flex role offers flexible shifts across day and night options, with no weekend/holiday requirements and a base rate of $40/hour plus shift incentives.

Positions span Behavioral Health, ICU, Medical-Surgical, and Women’s Health units. Licensure, experience, and certifications vary by specialty; Epic experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program.
• BSN degree preferred.
• Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in current compact license.
• 1 year of bedside RN experience for Med/Surg; 2+ years for other specialties (L&D, ICU, etc.).
• Current BLS; CC requires BLS/ACLS; Epic experience may be required after start.

Overview:

Are you seeking a flexible incentivized Registered Nurse position? Ability to pick up day shift OR night shift- whatever works best for you! No weekend, holiday, or shift requirement. Participation in the Gig Nursing Program requires being responsible for scheduling a minimum number of hours, being available on short notice, being flexible and subject to last minute shift cancellation. The Gig Nursing Program does not offer guaranteed shift hours and will be the first for cancellation.

Departments Utilizing GIG RNs:

• Behavioral Health (BH)
• Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Medical-Surgical (MS)
• Women's Health (L&D, NICU, M&B)

Qualifications:

• Required Education:
  • Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
• Preferred Education:
  • BSN
• Licensure:
  • Is responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current compact RN license
• Experience:
  • One year of recent bed-side RN experience to work Med Surg.
  • For all other specialties (L&D, ICU, etc.) a minimum of two years of recent bed-side RN experience.
• Certifications:
  • For Med Surg, Behavioral Health, and Women's Health (L&D, NICU, M&B) - BLS
• For Critical Care (CC) - BLS, ACLS
• Additional Certifications may be required after start
• Preferred Experience:
  • Epic experience
