General Overview
Provides nursing care to the patient undergoing endoscopic procedures. Collaborates with the patient and physician to provide care.
Essential Responsibilities
- Conducts pre-procedural assessment and data collection.
- Participates in the care of patients undergoing GI procedures.
- Provides proper documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards and requirements.
- Maintains a safe environment for patients from assessment through to the recovery period.
Qualifications
Minimum
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
- CPR certification
- 1 year nursing experience or previous GI experience required if less than one year nursing
Preferred
- 1 year critical care experience
- Minimum 2 years endoscopy experience
