27-bed telemetry PCU that partners closely with the hospitalist team while addressing patient conditions with a primary GI focus. 8 West provides a great launching point to your healthcare career with introductions into cardiology, respiratory, and overall medical patient management. This unit offers a well-rounded experience, gaining a strong knowledge base while building relationships with consulted specialists.

Responsibilities

• Complete age-specific admission and ongoing assessments, documenting and using them to develop care plans.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team, patients, and families to develop, implement, and evaluate interdisciplinary care plans, revising as patient conditions change.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care to achieve optimal outcomes for patients of all ages.
• Accurately administer and document treatments and medications using electronic medical records, including electronic medical systems.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program or eligible to sit for the VA licensure exam.
• Experience: None required.
• Licensure/Certification: Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in Virginia or eligible, with CPR certification; ACLS, PALS, NRP as needed.
• Other: Proficiency in computer skills for electronic medical records (EPIC). Successful completion of orientation and competency assessments. Ability to meet essential job functions.
