Job summary

Mercy Hospital South is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the General Surgery 3W unit. This part-time role operates on a night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a 24-hour per week schedule and not in the OR. Both experienced and new graduate nurses are welcome, and a sign-on bonus is available.

The ideal candidate holds an RN license in Missouri (or compact) and has education in nursing (ADN, diploma, or BSN). BLS certification is required, with hospital experience preferred for some units.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the listed degrees.
• Licensure: Must hold and maintain a current RN license in Missouri or compact licensure.
• Experience: Previous hospital experience may be required depending on unit.
• Certifications: BLS certification required or to be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of information.
• Coordinates patient care with other departments and team members.

Registered Nurse (RN) – General Surgery 3W

This position is on a General Surgery Medical-Surgical inpatient unit. This is not an Operating Room (OR) role.

Seeking Experienced & New Graduate Nurses!

Location: Mercy Hospital South - 10010 Kennerly Rd, St. Louis, Missouri 63128

Schedule: Part time | 24 hours/week

Shift: Night Shift | 7:00 PM-7:30 AM

Sign-On Bonus

• Experienced Nurses: Up to $10,000
• New Graduate Nurses (less than 1 year of experience): Up to $5,000

Overview

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and mercy service standards.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following:

• Associate Degree in Nursing
• Nursing Diploma
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure: Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.

Experience: Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.

Certifications

• Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: BSN preferred
• Licensure: Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred
• Experience: Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
