Job summary

Mercy is seeking an experienced or new graduate Registered Nurse (RN) for the General Surgery 3W inpatient unit at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO. The role is part-time, 24 hours per week, with a night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.

This position is not in the OR. Responsibilities include providing patient care using the nursing process, coordinating with other departments, protecting patient rights, and upholding Mercy's mission and service standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current MO RN license or compact licensure.
• BLS certification required or completed within 30 days of hire.
• Hospital experience preferred depending on unit.

Position Details:

Registered Nurse (RN) – General Surgery 3W

This position is on a General Surgery Medical-Surgical inpatient unit. This is not an Operating Room (OR) role.

Seeking Experienced & New Graduate Nurses!

Location: Mercy Hospital South - 10010 Kennerly Rd, St. Louis, Missouri 63128

Schedule: Part time | 24 hours/week

Shift: Night Shift | 7:00 PM-7:30 AM

Sign-On Bonus

• Experienced Nurses: Up to $10,000
• New Graduate Nurses (less than 1 year of experience): Up to $5,000

Overview

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and mercy service standards.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following:

• Associate Degree in Nursing
• Nursing Diploma
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure: Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.

Experience: Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.

Certifications

• Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: BSN preferred
• Licensure: Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred
• Experience: Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
