Job summary

Mercy is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the General Surgery 3W inpatient unit. The role focuses on applying the nursing process to deliver patient care, coordinating with departments and maintaining patient rights and confidentiality.

The position is on a General Surgery Medical-Surgical floor (not OR), with a 36-hour weekly schedule on the night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Sign-on bonuses apply for experienced and new graduates.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the listed credentials.
• Must hold and maintain a current RN license in Missouri or be licensed via compact.
• Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or will be within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains accountability for provision of patient care for assigned patients.
• Evaluates overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers.
• Coordinates patient care with other departments; maintains patient rights and confidentiality.
