Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in Missouri is hiring an RN for the Med Surg/General Surgery 3W unit. Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a 36-hour weekly schedule. The role focuses on providing patient care on a general surgery inpatient floor, not in the OR.

New graduates and experienced nurses are encouraged to apply, with sign-on bonuses available up to $10,000 for experienced and $5,000 for new grads. Location is Mercy Hospital South, St. Louis, MO, with day-one benefits and comprehensive support.

Qualifications

• Education: graduate of an accredited nursing program with one of the listed credentials.
• Licensure: current RN license in Missouri or compact licensure as required.
• Experience: hospital experience preferred depending on unit.
• Certifications: BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care and maintain accountability.
• Coordinate patient care with other departments while upholding patient rights.

Seeking Experienced &New Graduate Nurses!

Schedule: Full-Time | 36 hours/week

Shift: Night Shift | 7:00 PM-7:30 AM

Overview

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and mercy service standards.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following:

• Associate Degree in Nursing
• Nursing Diploma
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure: Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.

Experience: Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.

Certifications:

• Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: BSN preferred
• Licensure: Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred
• Experience: Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
