Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, Missouri, is seeking an experienced RN for the Med Surg, General Surgery 3W unit. This full-time night shift role (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) is not in the OR and offers nursing care on a General Surgery inpatient unit.

You will apply the nursing process, ensuring patient safety, rights, and high-quality care while collaborating with multiple departments and Mercy's team-centered culture.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with degree(s) as listed.
• Current Missouri RN license or compact licensure per state rules.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care using the nursing process and evidence-based practices.
• Coordinate patient care with other departments and shifts.
• Maintain patient rights, privacy, and professional accountability.

Seeking Experienced &New Graduate Nurses!

Location: Mercy Hospital South - 10010 Kennerly Rd, St. Louis, Missouri 63128

Schedule: Full-Time | 36 hours/week

Shift: Night Shift | 7:00 PM-7:30 AM

Overview

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and mercy service standards.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following:

• Associate Degree in Nursing
• Nursing Diploma
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure: Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.

Experience: Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.

Certifications:

• Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: BSN preferred
• Licensure: Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred
• Experience: Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
