Job Description: Charge Nurse - Murphy, NC

Located in the beautiful mountain community of Murphy, NC, Murphy Rehabilitation and Nursing is a leading provider of short-term rehabilitation and long-term care in Western NC.

Charge Nurse - Murphy, NC

Qualifications
  • Credentialed in NC with an unencumbered NC License/Certification (Required)
  • At least six months experience in a Long Term Care environment (Preferred)
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record software; PCC is a plus
  • Effective communication skills with staff and all organizational levels
  • Organizational and prioritization skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Teamwork capability
  • Working knowledge of Computers, Microsoft Windows, and Office
  • Valid NC driver's license and reliable transportation
Major Responsibilities
  • Monitor residents' conditions and recognize significant changes during shifts
  • Supervise resident-care personnel to ensure care documentation and execution per the Plan of Care
  • Prepare and administer medications and treatments following the 5 RIGHTS
  • Maintain accurate resident records, electronically or in writing
  • Verify inventory and order medications as needed
  • Consult with supervisors and participate in meetings
  • Assign staff duties, providing guidance and performance evaluations
  • Assist with resident assessments and care plan updates with the Interdisciplinary Team
  • Communicate effectively with residents' families and healthcare professionals
