Unit Details

This is a 20-bed variable acuity unit; staff are trained to the highest level of care (ICU), with Stepdown beds integrated into the unit.

Location

AHN Wexford Hospital in Wexford, PA, is the newest full-service, clinician-led hospital in the Allegheny Health Network, providing comprehensive care to all ages. Opened in September 2021, it features 160 private beds.

General Overview

The Registered Nurse assesses responses and plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for individuals or families, ensuring high-quality care and accountability.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and contribute to team success.
  • Delegate tasks based on patient needs and staff skills.
  • Maintain a safe environment and consider patient condition and intervention complexity.
  • Provide feedback and share knowledge with peers.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary evaluations and quality initiatives.
  • Supervise delegated tasks and evaluate LPN scope of practice.
  • Use the nursing process to assess and plan care tailored to patient needs.
  • Assess health status, report changes, and intervene as needed.
  • Participate in continuous learning and professional development.
  • Promote patient satisfaction and compassionate communication.
Qualifications

Minimum

  • Act 34, 33, and 73 Clearances
  • Current PA RN license or multi-state license (eNLC)
  • CPR certification

Preferred

  • Specialty certification
