Job summary

HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse to deliver high quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with the care team. The RN will assess pain, perform procedures, teach patients and families, and ensure timely documentation in the medical record.

Candidates must obtain ACLS, BLS, pediatric/neonatal certifications within specified timeframes and meet trauma care requirements. This role supports a comprehensive benefits program in a leading Florida hospital system.

Qualifications

• Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) within 30 days of start date.
• Basic life support (BLS) within 30 days of start date.
• Emergency pediatric care certification within 6 months.
• Neonatal resuscitation within 90 days.
• Nonviolent crisis intervention within 90 days.
• PALS pediatric advanced life support within 30 days.
• Trauma nursing core course within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management and reassess after intervention.
• Perform procedures and monitor as ordered by physician; document care timely.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs; provide proactive care.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, status, treatment plan, meds and side effects.
• Explain non-medicinal follow-up measures like diet and exercise for self-management.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centred care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Performs exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Strives to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about any non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and/or other lifestyle changes. Prepares patients and families/caregivers for future self‑management.

What qualifications you will need:
