Job summary

MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Night Shift in the Float Pool. This 12-hour night position supports multiple units, delivering essential patient care across the hospital's acute and specialty services.

An Iowa RN license is required; BSN is preferred and national nursing certification is encouraged. BLS must be obtained within 30 days of hire and renewed every two years.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred; active Iowa RN license required.
• Certification by a recognized nursing organization preferred.
• Membership in a professional nursing organization recommended.
• Mandatory reporter training within 6 months of hire and every 3 years.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire and renewed every 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care across the Float Pool and multiple units.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality care.
• Monitor patient conditions and adjust care plans as needed.
• Document care and communicate effectively with patients and families.

The Mercy registered nurse must hold an active license to practice nursing in the state of Iowa. A baccalaureate degree in nursing and certification by a nationally recognized nursing organization is preferred and strongly encouraged. An applicant must have a minimum of an associate’s degree in nursing. The registered nurse continuously seeks opportunities to enhance his or her own professional nursing practice. Membership in an appropriate professional nursing organization is recommended.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
