Job summary

Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage is seeking a compassionate Float Pool RN to deliver individualized nursing care across units, including PCU, Medical/Oncology, CVSU, Ortho and Inpatient Rehabilitation.

You will collaborate with physicians, respond to changes in patient conditions, and participate in process improvements while providing excellent care in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Alaska.
• Associate Degree in Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Minimum one year of clinical nursing experience.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care based on nursing process.
• Cover sick calls across PCU, Med/Onc, CVSU, Ortho, Rehab.
• Assess, plan, and implement individualized patient care.
• Respond quickly to changes in condition and treatment.
• Collaborate with patients and families across cultures.
• Communicate with physicians about patient status.
• Perform nursing duties across continuum of care.
• Participate in department process improvements.
• Maintain composure under pressure.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a highly skill and compassionate Float Pool Nurse you provide individualized comprehensive nursing care to meet the patients care needs while floating in different units of the hospital. Our team is amazing and we are looking for someone who has a passion for providing excellent patient care. You will be joining a team that is dedicated to serving others in need and also supporting one another. In this role

• You will provide the best possible preventative, supportive, and rehabilitative nursing care to each patient based upon the nursing process and in accordance with hospital policy and procedure.
• You will be assigned responsibilities with full patient assignment will be specific to PCU, Medical/Oncology, CVSU, Ortho and Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit, primarily to cover sick calls
• You will provide assessment and planning for individualized patient care.
• You will respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
• You will provide care for the patient in collaboration with the patient/family, with regard to developmental, cultural and age specific differences, develops and implements patient care plans to include problems, goals, evaluations and interventions.
• You will communicate effectively with physicians regarding patient’s clinical condition and results of diagnostic studies.
• You will perform nursing duties as needed in the continuum of care for all patients.
• You will participate in process improvement efforts and activities for the department.
• You will act in a composed and professional manner, especially under pressure.

What qualifications you will need:

• Registered Nurse – State of Alaska
• Associate Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred.
• Prefer one year of clinical nursing experience in a health care facility
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and (ALS or ACLS) and Certification Required
