Job summary

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville is hiring a Registered Nurse for our Central Float Pool. The role involves floating to units with varying acuity, primarily IMCU or Medical/Surgical, with training and precepting for ICU and ED as nurses move into these areas.

Two years of acute care experience is preferred; new grads with hospital acute care background may be considered. RN license is required; BLS within 90 days; ACLS within 1 year.

Qualifications

• RN degree or diploma is required.
• BSN or MSN preferred.
• New grads with hospital acute care exposure may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments and design care plans.
• Monitor and administer medications and treatments as ordered.
• Coordinate care with an interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity.
• Educate patients and families about conditions and discharge plans.
• Document care and respond promptly to clinical changes.
