Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Lutheran Hospital is seeking an RN for the Float Pool to support Night shifts in Cleveland. The Float Pool spans multiple units, providing diverse patient care and learning opportunities across departments and locations.

The RN on this team will deliver direct patient care, participate in care planning, and educate patients and families while maintaining documentation and safety standards. A BSN is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • One to two years of acute care RN experience OR military RN experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through AHA.
  • BSN is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and their families.

The Float Pool provides a unique experience to attend diverse populations of patients in many critical care units, departments and/or locations while learning from many of our best caregivers. As an RN on this team, you will utilize your nursing skills to enhance patient care wherever assigned, ensuring they feel comfortable and supported. In this role, you can make a lasting difference in the lives of patients every day.

A caregiver in this position works Part‑Time Nights from 11:00PM - 11:30AM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Provide direct nursing care.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • One to two years of current acute care RN experience OR military RN experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
