Job summary

Corpus Christi Medical Center seeks a Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing care on Acute Inpatient Units, including Cardiac, Neuroscience, and Orthopedic services. You will assess patients, develop care plans, administer treatments, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality outcomes.

The role requires a state RN license (TX or compact) and a minimum of 1 year of RN experience, with BLS/CPR certification.

Qualifications

  • Graduated from an accredited school of nursing with an Associates or Bachelor of Science in Nursing; BSN preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-year RN experience required.
  • Texas State RN license or compact license accepted.
  • BLS/BCLS certification.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association CPR/BLS training.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver professional nursing care for assigned patients across Acute Inpatient Units.
  • Administer treatments, medications, and procedures within scope of practice.
  • Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members and ancillary services.
  • Delegate within scope of practice to ensure safe patient care.
  • Incorporate AIDET service principles into daily activities.
  • Access secured drug and biol storage areas as needed for medication management.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Registered Nurse delivers professional nursing care to population-specific patients on the Acute Inpatient Units to include, Acute Care Medicine, Acute Care Telemetry, Acute Care Cardiac, Acute Care Cardiopulmonary, Chest Pain, Neuroscience, Neuro-Stroke, Neuro Spine, Observation, Ortho Surgical Trauma, Post-Surgical. Follows the Board of Nursing’s (BON) Standards of Nursing Practice utilizing the nursing process in care delivery. Maintains accountability for professional decisions and actions within the parameters of their legal scope of practice and in accordance with the federal, state, and local laws; rules and regulations; and policies, procedures and guidelines of Gulf Coast Division (GCD).

What you will do in this role:
  • Responsible for delivery of professional nursing care for assigned patients, performs nursing assessments/ care plan/ implementation of treatment/ evaluation of treatment/ and discharge planning.
  • Administers treatments/medications/procedures within scope of practice.
  • Coordinates care with interdisciplinary team members and ancillary services.
  • Responsible for delegation within scope of practice to provide safe and effective care to patient population.
  • Integrates behavior standards and AIDET fundamentals of service into all work activities.
  • Authorized to access secure drug and biological storage areas when completing a medication management orientation and when necessary to perform assigned duties
What qualifications you will need:
  • Graduated from an accredited school of nursing with an Associates or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-year RN experience required
  • Float Pool exp preferred
  • Current Texas State RN license or compact license is accepted
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association
  • Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification
