Job summary

Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage is seeking an experienced RN Float Pool nurse to deliver individualized nursing care across hospital units, collaborating with physicians and families to support patient outcomes. You will influence care decisions through collaborative relationships with managers and nursing councils.

You will work across PCU, Medical/Oncology, CVSU, Ortho and Inpatient Rehabilitation units, primarily covering sick calls, with emphasis on assessment, planning, and timely

Qualifications

• RN license in Alaska.
• Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• One year of clinical nursing experience preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Provide preventative, supportive, and rehabilitative nursing care using the nursing process and hospital policy.
• Assigned responsibilities include PCU, Medical/Oncology, CVSU, Ortho and Inpatient Rehabilitation, primarily to cover sick calls.
• Provide assessment and planning for individualized patient care.
• Respond quickly to changes in condition or response to treatment.
• Collaborate with patient/family with regard to developmental, cultural and age-specific differences; develop and implement care plans.
• Communicate effectively with physicians regarding patient condition and diagnostic results.
• Perform nursing duties in the continuum of care for all patients.
• Participate in department process improvement efforts.
• Maintain composure and professionalism under pressure.
