Job summary

Westchester Medical Center Health Network is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing care in an assigned clinic or unit, following the nursing process and infection control standards. The RN will assess patients, plan care, and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team.

Minimum two years of medical/surgical experience, graduation from an accredited nursing program, and current NYS license (or limited permit) are required. BLS and ACLS are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of medical/surgical nursing experience.
• Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Current NYS license or limited permit to practice as an RN.
• Current BLS and ACLS required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients by assessing their status.
• Develop a plan of care and annotate medical records per procedures and regulations.
• Include patients and family in the care planning process.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and respond to changes in condition.
• Assess and administer treatments and medications per the nursing plan of care.
• Operate specialized medical equipment.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care.
• Provide patient and family education on medications, treatments, and follow-up care.
• Participate in discharge planning and quality assurance activities.
• Precept and mentor newer staff on the assigned unit.
