Job summary

Live Well Homecare Agency, LLC seeks an experienced RN First Assistant (RNFA) to collaborate with surgeons across specialties, providing intraoperative nursing care and perioperative planning.

You will assist in procedures, monitor responses, and contribute to patient education and safety, while supporting ongoing professional development and teamwork in a comprehensive benefits environment.

Qualifications

• Active RN license; CFA/CNOR certifications preferred.
• 2–5 years of nursing experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons intraoperatively as a first assistant and perform focused pre-op assessments.
• Support surgical team by planning, delivering, and evaluating patient care with safety and cost-effectiveness in mind.
• Monitor patient responses, adjust care plans, administer medications, and track progress toward outcomes.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to peer growth.
• Educate patients and families, integrate research into practice, advocate for safety, and provide ethical leadership.

Job description

Role Overview:

This RN First Assistant (RNFA) collaborates with surgeons during surgical procedures, providing intraoperative patient care and supporting surgical teams in various specialties such as vascular, hepatobiliary, trauma, ENT, and orthopedics. They work closely with patients, families, and healthcare providers to plan and deliver safe, effective perioperative care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist surgeons intraoperatively as a first assistant, performing focused pre-op assessments and analyzing data to determine nursing diagnoses.
• Contribute to surgical team efficiency by planning, delivering, and evaluating patient care while considering safety, effectiveness, and cost-effectiveness.
• Monitor patient responses, modify care plans, administer medications, and evaluate patient progress towards outcomes.
• Participate in ongoing professional development, ensuring practice aligns with current standards, and contribute to peer growth.
• Educate patients and families, incorporate research into practice, advocate for patient safety, and provide ethical leadership.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Minimum of a Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing, with 2-5 years of experience preferred.
• Active RN license; preferred certifications include Certified First Assistant (CFA), CNOR, or other perioperative credentials.
• Preferred education includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
