Job Summary

Geisinger offers a full‑time Inpatient Registered Nurse position in the Central Region Float Pool. The hiring rate starts at $41.50 per hour, with additional float premium of up to $10 and shift differentials of up to $7 for evening, night, and weekend shifts. Eligible candidates may receive a lump‑sum hiring incentive of up to $24,000 and relocation assistance of up to $7,500.

Responsibilities
  • Complete assessments per scope of practice and unit standards.
  • Address physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families throughout care.
  • Formulate, coordinate, and provide plan of care, including education, family needs, and discharge planning, with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Provide direct patient care: treatments, medications, diagnostic studies per policy and procedure.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of interventions and revise plan of care based on patient response.
  • Collaborate with physicians, ancillary personnel, and other team members; proactively resolve patient needs.
  • Problem‑solve, troubleshoot, and implement corrective measures for equipment and care handling.
  • Participate in unit‑based decision‑making regarding evidence‑based practice.
  • Act as a team member working toward unit and organizational goals; hold accountability for metrics.
  • Participate in quality and safety education programs and activities to improve departmental and organizational safety.
Position Details / Schedule Requirements
  • 0.9 full‑time equivalent (FTE), 36 hours per week on three 12‑hour shifts.
  • Day/Night schedule rotation (7a‑7:30p, 7p‑7:30a).
  • Rotating weekend and holiday shifts.
  • Eligibility to float assignments among Geisinger Medical Center Danville, Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital, and Geisinger Shamokin Area Community Hospital.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from a specialty training program (required).
  • Minimum of 1 year related work experience (required).
  • Basic Life Support certification within 6 months; licensed Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
