Job description

Position Title: RN-ER - Fort Worth, TX

Open Shifts: Fulltime - Nights: 7:00 pm - 7:00 am (rotating weekends)

Job Summary:

The Emergency Department RN (ER RN) is responsible for nursing decisions and actions within their scope of practice. Key responsibilities include promoting a safe, therapeutic environment; acquiring specialized knowledge and skills; demonstrating competence; adhering to hospital policies and standards; and supervising staff as designated.

Responsibilities:
  1. Identify emergent or urgent situations and communicate effectively with leadership using the appropriate chain of command.
  2. Prioritize patient care based on acuity, re-assessing conditions as needed before and after medical screenings.
  3. Ensure quality care by following standards, measuring outcomes, and making necessary adjustments according to regulations and policies.
  4. Provide and document consistent, high-quality patient care following hospital standards and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • ADN required; BSN preferred (will accept ADN if enrolled in a BSN program, with completion within 36 months).
  • Current Texas State RN licensure (compact license accepted; license must be obtained within 30 days of hire).
  • Current ACLS and BLS from the American Heart Association or equivalent.
  • PALS or ENPC required within 90 days; ENPC and TNCC required within 6 months.
  • At least 1 year of recent acute ER hospital experience.
