Job summary

Artesia General Hospital in Artesia, NM is hiring a Full Time Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care and apply the nursing process from assessment through evaluation with empathy and professionalism.

The position requires an Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing, current NM RN license (or Multistate Compact), and BLS. ACLS and PALS within 90 days; TNCC and ENPC preferred. Salary ranges from $35.58 to $55.95 hourly. Shift flexibility offered to cover all shifts.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with Associate Degree or Diploma.
  • One year of relevant experience; graduates considered based on position availability.
  • Current New Mexico RN license or RN with Multistate Compact privileges.
  • BLS certification required. ACLS, PALS required or within 90 days of employment. TNCC and ENPC preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize the nursing process by demonstrating assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Teach patient/significant other appropriate health information and share written materials.
  • Perform direct patient care following established procedures and standards.
  • Provide empathetic support to patients and families while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Assist in orientation/training of new employees and support staff as needed.
  • Cross-train to support cross-functional duties and ensure seamless patient care.

Essential Functions
  • Utilize the nursing process by demonstrating appropriate assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient's care, as evidenced by client/staff observation.

  • Perform direct patient care, utilizing established procedures, policies, and standards.
  • Assist patients, family members or other clients with concern and empathy; respect their confidentiality and privacy and communicate with them in a courteous and respectful manner.
  • Assist in the orientation/training of new employees.
  • Assist other staff in the performance of their assignments.
  • Recognize the need for variations in staffing and volunteer to fill open shifts.
  • Take direction and initiate actions (cross/additional training) that will allow the assumption of cross-functional duties to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment by taking appropriate actions regarding questionable findings or concerns.

Minimum Position Qualifications
  • Education – Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing – Associate Degree or Diploma required.
