SoftPath Medical is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse - Electrophysiology (RN-EP) for our Winston-Salem, NC facility. The role focuses on scrubbing and circulating for EP procedures, with responsibilities including sterile technique, pacing, and X-ray operation in a high-volume lab.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years scrub experience in EP, BLS/ACLS, and CVIS/RCIS/RCES credentials. The position supports a teaching hospital environment and collaborative team care.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years scrub experience in EP procedures including ablations, CRM devices, and LAAO.
  • Preferred experience with left lower extremity scrubbing.
  • RN with BLS and ACLS required; CVIS certs preferred or RCIS/RCES.
  • First-time travelers may be considered based on EP lab experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with physicians, fellows, team members, vendors, leadership, and anesthesia staff.
  • Scrub, circulate, document, maintain sterile technique during EP procedures.
  • Operate X-ray equipment and manage pacing/stimulation as needed.
  • Utilize CARTO, Rhythmia, and EPIC/Cupid systems for patient care.

Registered Nurse - Electrophysiology (RN - EP)
Facility Details
  • Located in Winston-Salem, NC

  • Stroke Center
Department Overview
  • Average daily patient volume: 15-20 cases
  • Minimum required experience: 2 years of scrub experience in EP procedures including ablations, CRM devices, and LAAO; preferred experience with left lower extremity scrubbing
  • First-time travelers may be considered based on EP lab experience
Patient Population and Common Diagnoses
  • Cardiac arrhythmias and electrophysiology-related cases
Licenses and Certifications
  • Registered Nurse: BLS and ACLS required
  • Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist: BLS, ACLS, ARRT-R or equivalent, or RCIS required; RCES preferred
Required Skills and Competencies
  • RN Technical Skills: Scrubbing (must have scrub experience), circulating, documentation, sterile technique, pacing/stimulation, operation of X-ray equipment, airway management during nurse-led sedation, arterial/venous sheath management, hemodynamic monitoring, CARTO system usage, advanced arrhythmia management, Istat, defibrillator threshold testing, temporary permanent pacing, ablations, pericardiocentesis, 3D mapping, radiation safety, EPIC/Cupid software proficiency, LAAO, laser lead extractions, cryoablation, Zoll equipment
  • RN-Specific Skills: Moderate sedation, Isuprel drips, cardioversions
Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with physicians, fellows, team members, vendors, leadership, and anesthesia staff

  • Electronic Medical Records: EPIC and Cupid
  • Department Equipment: Carto, Rhythmia, Client/Opal systems, Boston Scientific (FaraPulse) and Healthcare (Affera) PFA, RFA, ultrasound, Boston Scientific recording system, BARD with Client pacer and Boston Scientific stimulator, 3D/the Client ICE, intraoperative TEE, emergent temporary permanent pacemaker insertion, X-ray equipment (operation, safety, troubleshooting, panning), laser lead extractions, plasma blade/cautery

  • General orientation consists of 2 days within the department
