Job summary

UCI Health, the clinical enterprise of the University of California, Irvine, is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide direct clinical patient care across shifts. You will assess, plan, and implement care for assigned patients and support the Chief Nursing Officer in ensuring high quality, safe nursing practice.

The role requires a BSN, California RN license, and active BLS/ACLS/PALS, plus at least one year of experience in GI, ICU, or surgical service settings.

Qualifications

• All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Current California RN License.
• Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications.
• 1 year experience in Inpatient or Outpatient GI Services, ICU, Pre or post op Care Units, Cath Lab/ IR, Emergency Department, or in inpatient or outpatient surgical services.
• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.

Your Role on the Team

Position Summary:

This role provides direct clinical patient care. The role will assume responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing direct clinical care to assigned patients on a per shift basis, and unit level. The role is accountable to support CNO to ensure high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.
