Job summary

Carilion Clinic is seeking an RN for Endoscopy at the CNRVMC in Christiansburg, VA. The role is full-time with day/evening shifts from 07:45 to 17:15 and four 9-hour days, plus on-call as needed.

You will provide age-appropriate nursing care, assess and plan patient care, document in EMR, and collaborate with the care team to optimize outcomes. BLS is required with potential ACLS/PALS/NRP depending on area.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program required.
• Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or eligibility to obtain licensure required.
• AHA BLS-HCP required; ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required depending on area.

How You'll Help Transform Healthcare:

This position is located at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center (CNRVMC) in Christiansburg, VA working full time. Shifts are 0745-1715, four-9 hours shifts Monday - Friday, with overnight and weekend call as needed.

The RN

• Provides individualized patient care and coordinates care delivery for patients of all ages.
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Completes and documents age-specific assessments to support development of care plans.
• Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans.
• Administers treatments and medications accurately and documents care in electronic medical records.
• Identifies and addresses patient and family education needs.
• Participates in performance improvement and quality initiatives.
• Advocates for patients and supports their rights and psychosocial needs.
• Applies knowledge of growth and development to provide age-appropriate care.
• Demonstrates clinical expertise in dynamic and changing care environments.
• Implements strategies to improve patient outcomes and resource utilization.
• Serves as a role model and supports development of peers and team members.
• Manages resources, prioritizes tasks, and adapts to changing patient care needs.
• Supports orientation and training of new employees.

• Provides feedback and participates in shared decision-making activities.
• Supports education activities within the department.

What We Require:

Education: Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program required.

Experience: None.

Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia required or eligibility to obtain licensure required.

Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP required. Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on assigned work area.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Keyboarding skills and computer literacy required, including use of electronic medical records. For Behavioral Health roles, must demonstrate ability to safely manage disruptive or potentially violent patients.

Compensation Range:

$33.52 - $50.28

Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
