Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital is seeking an RN - Endoscopy to join a Magnet-recognized team. You will provide direct nursing care and participate in the patient journey, delivering education and support as needed.

This regular PRN role requires RN licensure, BLS, PALS (and ACLS on hire or within first year), with day shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m or 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m and on-call/weekend responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN).
  • Current state RN licensure.
  • BLS Certification.
  • PALS certification upon hire.
  • ACLS certification upon hire or within first year.

This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working days between 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., with on-call and weekend requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Provide direct nursing care.

  • Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.

  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.

  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.

  • Maintain professional growth and development through ongoing formal and informal education and clinical nursing study.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross

  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon hire

  • *If in a Critical Care area an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification must be presented upon hire or within first year of hire

  • External applicants: two years of recent related nursing

  • Internal applicants: less than two years of experience, but post-orientation/90-day probationary period considered with the Chief Nursing Officer level review and approval

  • Military RN experience considered

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN)

  • Critical care or ICU experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.

  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.

  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

  • Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.

  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.

  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
