Job summary

Cook Children's Health Care System is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Endocrinology for a nursing job in Fort Worth, Texas. The RN Staff Nurse on 3 North provides individualized care, prioritizes safety, and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to manage endocrinology conditions.

The unit treats diabetes mellitus, diabetic ketoacidosis, thyroid disorders, and other endocrine issues, with telemetry and pediatric-focused care.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted TX Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• BLS - American Heart Association.
• 1 Year of direct nursing experience.
• 1 year of pediatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver competent, individualized nursing care to patients and families using the nursing process to augment the medical plan of treatment.
• Work with a strong team orientation and apply sound clinical judgment and evidence-based decision-making.
• Monitor patients on the 3 North endocrinology unit, including diabetes management, insulin therapy, electrolytes, and nutrition support.
• Provide patient and family education and advocate for safety and quality of care.
• Contribute to telemetry monitoring and coordination of care on a 17-bed unit that also handles behavioral health needs.
