Job summary

GW Hospital in Washington, DC seeks an Employee Health Registered Nurse with expertise in enterostomal therapy to provide specialized wound, ostomy, and continence care. You will deliver safe nursing care and lead a healthcare team within a teaching hospital environment.

Responsibilities include evidence-based practice, clinical reasoning, and applying best evidence to patient care. Relevant licensing and BLS are required; enterostomal therapy experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as an RN in the District of Columbia or eligibility to obtain by start date.
• BLS certification required.
• Enterostomal therapy experience or relevant wound/ostomy care exposure is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe, competent nursing care per facility policies and nursing philosophy.
• Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team with a patient-centered care approach.
• Formulates clinical questions to guide care and decision making.
• Performs evidence-based practice literature searches and applies findings.

• Provides safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy.

• Demonstrates the ability to formulate questions that address clinical issues.
• Demonstrate proficiency in completing an evidence-based practice literature search.
• Analyzes best evidence to address a clinical question.
• Translates evidence into clinical practice through the consistent use of knowledge and evidence.
• Utilizes clinical reasoning and knowledge based on evidence-based practice outcomes and research studies as the basis for decision making and comprehensive patient care.
