Job summary

Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta, part of Dignity Health, is recruiting an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced emergency department.

You will perform skilled assessments, lead nursing procedures, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes while adhering to ED policies and MMCMS guidelines.

Qualifications

• Current California RN license (or eligible) and acute care experience.
• Minimum 2 years of critical care in last 3 years.
• 1 year experience in an acute care facility.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and adjust nursing care plans.
• Monitor patient condition within scope of practice.
• Perform technical nursing procedures per ED policies.

• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other practitioners as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal care.
• Monitors medical condition of patients and works within scope of practice.
• Demonstrates ability to perform technical nursing procedures/skills of patient care competently, by implementing ED policies and procedures.
• Provides care in accordance with mission/philosophy of MMCMS, and as they would like their family to be cared for.
• Assesses and reassesses and remains attentive, so that all patient needs are met.
• Expedites ED processes by providing professional, efficient patient care and implements Standardized Procedures whenever possible thereby improving patient satisfaction.

Job Requirements

• Education sufficient to obtain a California Registered Nurse license. and RN experience in an acute care facility., upon hire
• Two year minimum requirement of critical care experience within the last 3 years.
• One year experience in an acute care facility
• Registered Nurse: CA, upon hire
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support, upon hire
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support, upon hire
• Trauma Nurse Core Course, within 12 - months

Preferred

• Bachelors Of Science Nursing and Emergency Room experience preferred over other critical areas., upon hire
• Certified Emergency Nurse, upon hire and
• Critical RN Adult/Neonatal/Pediatric/Acute, upon hire
