A leading healthcare provider is seeking a registered nurse responsible for total patient care, assessments, and supervision of nursing staff. This role requires an Associate's degree, BLS and ACLS certifications, and flexibility in scheduling to ensure optimal patient care. The nurse will provide leadership and support to maintain high standards of nursing care.
The registered nurse assumes principal responsibility for the total care of assigned clients in the respective unit. This nurse is responsible for assessment, reassessment, establishment of nursing diagnoses, formulation of the written plan of care, implementation, and evaluation of care. The nurse initiates health care training and education for the client and family as required, supporting the goals of Andalusia Health and the Department of Nursing. The registered nurse demonstrates awareness of the ongoing needs of the unit and provides leadership and direction to other team members to maintain optimal standards of nursing care. This position supervises other licensed and non-licensed nursing personnel for assigned units. Flexibility in scheduling is required, including the ability to work all shift patterns, weekends, and holidays, to ensure continuity of care and appropriate nursing coverage for all patients of Andalusia Health. The nurse provides care to all patient populations, considering age-specific needs and diagnoses.
Minimum Education: Associate's degree required.
Required Skills: Ability to function effectively in stressful situations, with strong verbal communication skills to present information related to nursing theory and practice. Ability to accept responsibility and accountability to provide, delegate, and coordinate nursing care on assigned units, demonstrating leadership qualities. Must have the cognitive and practical ability to deliver appropriate nursing care considering patient age and diagnosis, utilizing the full nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
Licenses: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alabama.
Additional requirements include BLS/CPR certification within 30 days of hire and ACLS certification within 6 months of employment.
