HCA Healthcare, Inc. seeks an RN for the Emergency Room Freestanding opening at Methodist ER Boerne to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with physicians and the care team.

You will educate patients and families, perform timely assessments, and contribute to excellent clinical outcomes within a supportive, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• ACLS to be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• BCLS to be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• TNCC to be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
• RN licensure as an RN (license required).
• PALS to be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• CPI (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention) to be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
• Minimum 6 months of experience as an RN.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management and reassessment after interventions.
• Perform procedures and document care in the medical record.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up.
• Guide patients on non-medicinal follow-up measures and self-management.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Performs exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Strives to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about any non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and/or other lifestyle changes. Prepares patients and families/caregivers for future self-management.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Associate Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma, or Bachelors Degree
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Cour, or PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Nonviolent Crisis Interv Inst, or Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• 6 months Minimum experience Required as a Licensed Registered Nurse (RN)

Methodist Boerne Emergency Center opened in 2008. The facility was the first 24/7 freestanding emergency center in South and Central Texas. It includes 15 private treatment rooms. All rooms are state of the art and fully equipped. We set our employees up for success! We offer high level emergency care with a depth of resources. These resources mirror an acute care hospital. Services include radiology, full service laboratory, and telemetry services. We exceed national standards for rapid evaluation and treatment in emergency cardiac cases.
