Methodist Boerne Emergency Center is seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse to influence patient care through collaborative relationships with management and participation in nursing initiatives. You will assess pain, perform procedures, document care, and educate patients and families to support self-management.

As a FSER Emergency Room Registered Nurse, your voice to influence patient care is valued and empowered at every turn –whether through open, collaborative relationships with your direct manager or more formal opportunities through hospital councils and national nursing initiatives. You'll help shape decisions that elevate both patient outcomes and the future of nursing.

Job Summary And Qualifications

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Performs exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Strives to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about any non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and/or other lifestyle changes. Prepares patients and families/caregivers for future self-management.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse 6 months experience Required
• Associate Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma, or Bachelors Degree
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Cour, or PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date

Methodist Boerne Emergency Center opened in 2008. The facility was the first 24/7 freestanding emergency center in South and Central Texas. It includes 15 private treatment rooms.
