The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient‑centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

Medical City McKinney opened its doors over 90 years ago as a 285‑plus bed acute care hospital serving the residents of McKinney and northern Collin County. It is a Level III trauma center and offers emergency services at its main campus and Medical City ER Stonebridge, cardiovascular and neurological services, general surgery, orthopedics, women’s services, a Level II neonatal intensive care unit, and behavioral health services. The facility is a Primary Stroke Center and a stroke rehabilitation center, and it is certified by The Joint Commission for total hip and total knee replacement.
