This job acts as a leader in the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and Scope & Standards of Practice. Effectively delegates, directs, and assists licensed and ancillary team members. Assumes accountability for quality patient outcomes, exhibits sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity in all interactions, and maintains involvement in activities aimed toward the achievement of unit and department’s strategic goals and objectives. Demonstrates professional responsibility and accountability for own practice and supports the company's philosophy of nursing.

Education

Required - Registered nurse diploma.
Preferred - Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing.

Work Experience

Required - None.

Certifications

Required - Current RN license in the state of practice.
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
CPI Certification within 30 days of hire.
ACLS within 90 days of hire.
PALS within 90 days of hire.

Preferred - Certification in a clinical specialty area.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and professionally to various audiences.
  • Good organizational and time management skills; ability to be self-directed.
  • Good judgment and interpersonal skills.

  • Utilize the nursing process effectively in patient care delivery.
  • Assess learning needs and implement appropriate teaching strategies for diverse patients and families.
  • Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources effectively, serving as a leader and partner within the interdisciplinary team.
  • Use data and knowledge to evaluate and promote change for optimal outcomes.
  • Enhance customer satisfaction and employee morale, and support professional nursing improvement.
  • Adapt behavior to specific patient populations, respecting privacy and communication preferences.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
