Registered Nurse – RN - Emergency Dept, Nights

Location: Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Waxahachie, TX

Schedule: 12-Hour Nights | 3 Days per Week | Full-Time

Position Summary

At Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Waxahachie, we are proud to offer an opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Room team. This 7-bed ER and 7 hall beds unit. The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care. This role is ideal for a nurse who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering excellent, evidence-based patient care.

As an RN in our Emergency Room, you’ll be a vital part of a collaborative care team. Quickly and accurately assess patient care needs. Diagnose and develop treatment plans collaboratively with doctors and staff. Manage multiple cases simultaneously, prioritizing needs continually.

Staffing And Support

To ensure safe and effective care delivery, we staff our unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio. Our nursing leadership and clinical educators are committed to supporting you every step of the way as an experienced RN looking to advance your skills.

Responsibilities Include

• Prioritize needs. Create, implement, and assess care plan to achieve outcomes. Adapt plan as necessary.
• Observe indicators closely, support evidence-based changes with research and hands-on learning.
• Create a caring, safe environment for patients, families, and staff.
• Build relationships with boundaries in mind. Focus on managing emotional and physical pain to promote healing and reduce suffering.
• Facilitate learning for all members of the healthcare team, including patients, families, and nursing staff, ensuring everyone is well-informed.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues and the community to develop and execute an integrated plan of care.
• Use problem-solving strategies and utilize available resources to support patients, family and staff as part of a systems thinking approach.
  
  

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Current Texas RN License or NLC/eNLC multistate license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• 2 Years in a relevant role is expected
  
  

Preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN)
• Experience in a hospital setting
• Advanced specialty certification (if applicable)
