Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a dedicated registered nurse to provide direct patient care in alignment with hospital policies, procedures, and standards.

You will apply the nursing process to plan and coordinate care for an age-appropriate patient population, initiate and adjust interdisciplinary plans, and document thoroughly to support team communication.

You will also educate patients and families across the continuum of care and may serve as a preceptor for students and new staff.

Qualifications

• Current PA RN licensure or multi-state licensure via eNLC.
• CPR – American Heart Association
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Background Clearance

GENERAL OVERVIEW

Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, protocols, and standards of the healthcare organization.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Utilizes the nursing process in providing and coordinating the plan of patient care for the age appropriate population. (30%)
• Initiates, monitors and revises interdisciplinary plan of care based on assessment findings and physician orders for the age appropriate population. (20%)
• Completes patient documentation in a comprehensive manner in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements that promotes interdisciplinary communication. (25%)
• Provides ongoing and appropriate teaching to patients and families to effectively guide them across the continuum of care. (20%)
• Supports the development of students, new staff and colleagues, may serve as a preceptor. (5%)
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
