Job summary

Texas Health Huguley in Burleson, TX seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for PRN daytime shifts in the Emergency/Acute setting. You will conduct comprehensive clinical assessments, develop individualized care plans, and coordinate multidisciplinary care.

Requires Associate Degree in Nursing, RN license, and BLS/ACLS/PALS. 1+ year of acute hospital experience is preferred; TNCC/NIHSS may be required depending on unit. Excellent communication with patients and families is essential.

Qualifications

• Nursing license required (RN) and certification requirements listed.
• English language proficiency required (spoken and written).
• 1+ year of acute hospital experience preferred.
• ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS certifications may be required by unit.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments of patients’ physical, mental, and emotional health.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessments.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care among physicians, nurses, social workers, and therapists.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed.
• Communicate with patients and families to ensure informed participation in care.

Job Description

Variable Shifts between 9:00am - 12:00pm

Shifts

• 9:00am - 9:00pm
• 10:00am - 10:00pm
• 11:00am - 11:00pm
• 12:00pm - 12:00am

(Requirement of 4 shifts per month with one shift being a weekend shift)

• Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments to evaluate patients' physical, mental, and emotional health.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessment findings and patient needs.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care by facilitating collaboration among healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, social workers, and therapists.
• Monitor patient progress, regularly review, and adjust care plans based on patient responses and outcomes.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure everyone is informed and involved in the care process.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Skills required to work in the emergency department as defined by unit
• Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patients, evaluate interventions, and revise the plan of care according to patient outcomes
• Basic computer skills – must be able to navigate Microsoft Windows-based programs
• Demonstrated proficiency in acute-care nursing, knowledge, and skills

• Unit-specific competencies met per orientation pathway
• The majority of employees will require a minimum of 12 months after orientation completed to achieve proficiency
