The Hospital of Central Connecticut is an acute-care community teaching hospital providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services in general medicine, surgery, and a wide variety of specialties. Staffed by a talented team of professionals, we care for patients from birth through the end of life.

We operate a 47-bed community-based Emergency Room serving approximately 80,000 to 85,000 patients annually with diverse complaints and illnesses. Our Emergency Department is known for efficient, collaborative, patient-centric care, and we focus on continuous improvements in patient and staff satisfaction. Our nurses work within collaborative, interdisciplinary teams focused on patient-centered care in a diverse environment. Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, the registered nurse utilizes evidence-based practices according to the State Nurse Practice Act, hospital policies, and medical staff directives. The nurse develops a care plan using the nursing process to address the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs of patients and families.

Qualifications

• Current Connecticut RN license required
• BSN preferred
• Experience in Emergency Medicine preferred
• New graduates may work under supervision per State guidelines
