Job summary

Boone Health’s Emergency Department offers accelerated pay for recent ED or ICU experience, a $20,000 sign-on bonus, and relocation assistance. The role requires 36 hours per week with shifts 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., including two weekends per 6-week schedule.

Weekend option is available with premium pay. This position welcomes experienced ED nurses or nurses seeking a new specialty and provides continuous learning opportunities and advanced hands-on training.

Qualifications

• Education: Nursing diploma or Associate’s degree in Nursing.
• Experience: None required.
• License: Registered Nurse (RN).
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within nursing standards.
• Educates patients and families on illness management and post‑treatment home care needs and medication administration.
• Uses critical thinking to assess and evaluate patients’ physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs.
• Develops and implements individual plans of care in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Promotes patient‑ and family‑centered care in a healing environment.
• Evaluates patients’ responses and modifies care plans accordingly during the stay.
• Participates in activities that promote safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Participates in professional development and lifelong learning.
• Performs other responsibilities as assigned.

The role requires 36 hours per week with shifts 7:00p.m. to 7:00a.m., including two weekends per 6‑week schedule. Weekend option is available with premium pay. This position welcomes experienced ED nurses or nurses seeking a new specialty and provides continuous learning opportunities and advanced hands‑on training. The department is Level1 STEMI and Level1 Stroke accredited, has five consecutive Magnet designations, and a 5‑Star CMS rating.
