Job summary

Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma, AL is hiring an RN for the Emergency Department. The role requires an active RN license in Alabama (or a compact state), BLS, and CPR certifications; ACLS, PALS, CPI, NIH Stroke Scale are expected within policy timeframes.

Qualifications

• Must hold current RN license in Alabama or compact state
• BLS required; ACLS, PALS per facility policy
• CPI certification within policy timeframe
• NIH Stroke Scale certification within policy timeframe
• TNCC preferred or required within policy timeframe
• ASLS preferred
• Emergency nursing experience in acute care is desirable

Responsibilities

• Triage and prioritize patient care by acuity
• Perform age-appropriate assessments and reassessments
• Administer medications and manage critical drips
• Assist physicians with exams and procedures in ED
• Monitor hemodynamics and cardiac rhythms
• Document care and education accurately
• Maintain infection control and sterile technique
• Educate patients/families about care plans and discharge instructions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team for optimal care
• Remain calm and professional in high-stress situations
