Job summary

Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma, AL, a 175-bed community hospital, delivers comprehensive emergency care as part of ScionHealth. The RN – Emergency Department provides direct and indirect patient care in a high-acuity setting, applying the nursing process to ensure safe, effective care across the lifespan.

Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, you will perform triage, administer medications, monitor cardiac rhythms, and educate patients.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing is required.
• Current state RN license or compact license is required.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI, NIH Stroke Scale are required or must be obtained per policy.
• Experience in emergency nursing in an acute care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs triage and prioritizes patient care based on acuity.
• Administers medications, performs procedures, and manages critical drips.
• Assists physicians with exams and procedures in the emergency department.
• Monitors hemodynamic status and interprets cardiac rhythms.
• Documents care, treatment, assessments, and education accurately.
• Applies infection control and sterile technique practices consistently.
• Educates patients and families about care plans and discharge instructions.
• Collaborates with providers and interdisciplinary team for optimal care delivery.
• Responds calmly and professionally in high-stress, life-threatening situations.
