Job summary

The Hospital of Central Connecticut is seeking an experienced registered nurse to join our Emergency Department on an evening shift. You will provide patient-centered care, utilize evidence-based nursing processes, and collaborate with a dynamic interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality outcomes.

CT licensed RNs with ED experience are encouraged to apply; new graduates may work under supervision according to state guidelines.

Qualifications

• RN with current Connecticut license required.
• BSN preferred.
• Experience in Emergency Medicine preferred.
• New graduates to work under supervision per State guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care under the direction of the Nurse Manager and use the nursing process to develop care plans.
• Deliver patient-centered care with a focus on safety, advocacy, and family involvement.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure efficient and high-quality emergency department operations.

The Hospital of Central Connecticut is an acute-care community teaching hospital, we provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services in general medicine and surgery, as well as a wide variety of specialties. Staffed by our talented team of leading professionals, The Hospital of Central Connecticut provides a wide array of services throughout the region, caring for patients from birth through the end of life.

We are a 47 bed community based Emergency Room that services approximately 80,000 to 85,000 patients per year with a wide variety of complaints and illnesses. This Emergency Department is well known for its efficient, collaborative, patient centric care. We pride ourselves on our patient and staff satisfaction, consistently focusing on improvements in those areas.

Our Nurses work in collaborative environments with strong interdisciplinary teams, focused on a patient centered care model in a richly diverse work space. Under the direction and general supervision of the Nurse Manager, the registered nurse utilizes evidence based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, policies and procedures of the hospital and as directed by the medical staff. The registered nurse who through knowledge and ability uses the nursing process to develop a plan of care which includes standards of practice to meet the physical, emotional spiritual, cultural and educational needs of the patient and family.
