Shift: 11:00am-11:30pm with an Every third weekend rotation

Responsibilities

• Assess patient’s health status through interview, observation, and physical assessment skills.
• Delegate, supervise, and provide nursing care for a designated group of patients using the nursing process.
• Participate in research and incorporate findings into evidence-based practice.
• Contribute to quality improvement processes.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation in the patient medical record.
• Safely utilize patient care equipment with demonstrated technical knowledge.
• Prioritize work based on patient condition, assignments, and interruptions.
• Perform nursing activities following safety protocols and policies.
• Advocate for patients with families, physicians, and healthcare team members.
• Adapt teaching strategies based on patient response and comprehension levels.
• Incorporate cultural, age-specific, gender, and developmental factors into patient education.
• Support initiatives to enhance patient experience.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Licensed in the State of Illinois.
• Certified in ACLS or completed within 6 months of employment.
• Certified in CPR or complete certification during onboarding.
• Emergency Communication Registered Nurse (ECRN) licensure.
• Trauma Nurse Specialist (TNS) or TNCC certification to be completed within 2 years of hire.

Experience and Skills

• 2-3 years of experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills, basic clinical skills, and proficiency with clinical information systems.
