The Brunswick Family Health Center Emergency Department features board-certified, emergency medicine physicians available around-the-clock to provide comprehensive care to adults and children. Depending on the type of visit, there are specific areas designed to take care of individual needs efficiently and compassionately. Backed by the full resources of Cleveland Clinic, the Emergency Department provides advanced care to the Brunswick community.
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be responsible for providing direct nursing care, implementing and monitoring patient care plans, administering medication and treatments, assessing and coordinating patients’ discharge plans, and monitoring, recording and communicating patients’ condition. Caregivers in this role work 7:00p.m. - 7:30 a.m.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, document and communicate patient’s condition, effectiveness and timeliness of care and/or interventions.
- Evaluate, update and revise plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes.
- Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing protocol.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
- Assess educational needs of the patient and significant others considering cultural issues and other special concerns.
- Provide teaching and educational material as appropriate.
- Validate and documents patient and family understanding of teaching.
- Maintain professional growth and development through ongoing formal and informal education and clinical nursing study.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- One year of current acute care RN and/or Emergency Department experience. Will consider military RN experience
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) within one year of employment
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) within one year of employment
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Bachelor’s of science in nursing (BSN)
- Emergency department experience
