Corewell Health's Canton Emergency Center is a 11-bed ED operating 24/7, providing emergency care, imaging, and lab testing. The RN applies nursing process, collaborating with families and the care team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

The role requires an ADN/ASN or diploma with a BSN to be completed within 5 years for new grads, MI RN licensure, and current BLS; ACLS, TNCC, and PALS within set timelines. A supportive team and comprehensive benefits await.

• Bachelor's degree in nursing within 5 years if new graduate or nurse with less than one year experience.
• Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have NCLEX and acute care experience or 2 years in licensed health care role.
• MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
• BLS upon hire/transfer; ACLS within 6 months; TNCC within 1 year; ENPC or PALS within 15 months; specialty certification recommended within 2 years.

About the unit

Canton EC is an 11-bed free-standing Emergency Department; we are open 24 hrs/365 days for emergency services including imaging and laboratory testing.

About Canton Emergency Center The Emergency Center at Beaumont Medical Center - Canton is staffed and equipped to handle severe illnesses and injuries, as well as the bumps and scrapes that also need medical attention.

Scope of work

The RN, under the ANA scope of practice utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge. The RN provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Corewell Health policies and procedures and recognizes the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes. The RN partners with and utilizes patient/family input and goals in planning plan of care and develops teaching strategies for patient/family; documents education and learning appropriately in health record.

Qualifications

Associates or Diploma in Nursing Required

Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years if new graduate/nurse with less than one (1) year experience

Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination

MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required

• Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire/transfer from one of the following organizations - American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Canadian Heart and Stroke.
• ACLS within 6 months of hire/transfer.
• TNCC within 1 year of hire/transfer.
• ENPC or PALS within 15 months of hire/transfer Specialty Certification highly recommended within 2 years Prefer RN experience.
• May consider New Graduates with recent experience in similar area (i.e. paramedic, EC Tech, etc.)
