Job summary

Memorial Hospital - Chattanooga is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver compassionate, high-quality care and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.

You will assess patients, perform skilled procedures, implement care plans, and contribute to a safe, healing environment in a fast-paced setting. Qualifications include TN RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, PALS (within 120 days). BSN preferred with ongoing professional growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must have Associate Degree in Nursing or equivalent and RN licensure in TN.
• Completion of an accredited nursing program.
• BLS; ACLS and PALS within 120 days of hire.
• Preferred: BSN or higher.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostic and patient monitoring; detect acute changes and escalate as needed.
• Administer and monitor therapies; IV care, meds per rights, safety measures.
• Manage rapidly changing situations by assessing needs.
• Prioritize and coordinate multiple patient needs.
• Provide patient comfort, advocate, and maintain therapeutic environment.
• Assess and educate patient readiness; explain condition and prognosis.

• Diagnostic and patient monitoring (detection and recognition of acute changes and escalation or concerns/critical results).
• Administration and monitoring therapeutic interventions and regimens (starting/maintaining intravenous therapies, administering medication per patients’ rights, preventing falls and skin breakdown and following policies in relation to safety measures).
• Effective management of rapidly changing situations (identifying, assessing and anticipating needs).
• Organization and work rule competencies (prioritizing, coordination and meeting multiple patient needs in a timely manner).
• Helping Role (consistently contribute to a healing environment, providing patient comfort and support for human dignity, serving as a patient advocate and building and maintaining a therapeutic environment.
• Teaching-Coaching Function (assess and evaluates the patient’s readiness and ability to learn, effectively explains a patient’s condition and their interpretation of his or her illness.
